Rev. Hubert Curtis Luffman

March 3, 1929 - October 15, 2011

Rev. Hubert Curtis Luffman, 82, of Mooresville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 3, 1929 in Davidson County, to the late Johnny and Sallie Holcomb Luffman. He was retired from Mooresville Mills where he worked for 42 years and was also the pastor of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Troutman for 30 years. He currently attended Rockwell Baptist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Dale Luffman, Timothy Luffman, Sr.; daughter, Crystal Luffman; brothers, Gerald Luffman, Albert Luffman, Jehu Luffman; sister, Elvie Brown; and great granddaughter, Betty Elizabeth Luffman.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jane Absher Luffman; children, Johnny Ray Luffman and wife, Billie of Mooresville, Jane Brown and husband, Ronnie of Troutman; brothers, Avery Luffman and wife, Ann of Troutman, Nelson Luffman and wife, Jeannie of Mooresville; sisters, Gracie Luffman of Mooresville, Elsie Luffman and husband, Jesse of Mooresville, Vermell Flynn and husband, Paul of Statesville; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 18 at Rockwell Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Barber officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
