Mildred Godbey Johnson

April 24, 1921 - October 19, 2012

Mildred Godbey Johnson, 91, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital.
She was born on April 24, 1921 in Davie County, to the late Martin Luther and Ossie Mae Ratledge Godbey. She was a 1943 graduate of Davis Hospital School of Nursing. She was retired after 35 years of service as a nursing supervisor at the Iredell County Health Department. She later worked as the nursing supervisor at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and also the 3rd Shift nursing supervisor at Brian Center in Mooresville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Taylor Johnson; sisters, Sally Foster, Thelma Blackwelder, Pauline Stroud, Minnie Gill, Mary Kathryn Campbell, Elizabeth Thigpen; and brothers, Bill Godbey and Joe Godbey.
She is survived by her children, Harry Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Marsha Johnson, Vann Johnson and wife, Debbie, Ann McElhany and husband, John all of Mooresville; sister, Clara York of Harmony, NC; grandchildren, Nikki Stanfield, Scott Johnson, Hayley Johnson, Cory Johnson, Johnny McElhany and Jimmy McElhany.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 22 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00-6:30 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
