Michael William Tanner

June 23, 1963 - January 31, 2012

Michael “Mike” William Tanner, 48, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born on June 23, 1963, to Portia Wrenn Tanner and the late William Tanner. He was employed with Coley Transportation of Concord, where he enjoyed being a long distance truck driver and seeing the country. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his 4-wheeler.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances Moore Tanner.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kimberly Parker Tanner, children, John Michael Tanner of Mooresville, Ashlee Tanner of Vale, Tammie Philbeck of Cherryville; sisters, Kim Gilbert, Crystal Hardwick both of Mooresville, Angie Keller of Morganton; and grandchildren, Xander, Mason and Brison.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
