Martha Heglar Lowrance

October 25, 1926 - December 10, 2011

Martha Heglar Lowrance, 85, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on October 25, 1926 in Rowan County, to the late Jay Will and Bertie Beaver Heglar. She was retired from Chemspun and Cannon Mills. She was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Douglas Lowrance; sisters, Aileen Leazer and Phyllis Heglar.
She is survived by her son, Charles “Ray” Dorton and wife, Lura of Mooresville, brother, J.W. “Dub” Heglar of Kure Beach; grandchildren, Luann Dorton Orbison and husband, Rusty of Mt. Ulla, Charles Douglas Dorton and wife, Stephanie of Charlotte; and great grandchildren, Regan, Victoria, and Rustyn Orbison.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 12 at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Swofford officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
