Marilyn Pender Holshouser

Marilyn P. Holshouser, 58, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 6, 2011, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, NC. She was born in Mooresville on November 12, 1952, to Vivian Young Pender and the late Howard E. Pender, Sr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. James Thomas Pender; maternal grandparents, Junie and Dollie Young; and paternal grandparents, James and Marie Pender. Mrs. Holshouser is survived by her husband of 35 years, George Howard Holshouser; sister, Aundria P. Jones and husband, Jack, of Maiden; brother, Pete Pender, of Sherrills Ford; and sister, Dollie P. Jackson and husband, Jack, of Mt. Ulla; and many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Mooresville Senior High School in 1971 and retired in 1993 due to health issues. Her hobbies included photography and music, but her greatest asset was the love she had for God, family and friends. She was a member of Truth Temple Church in Kannapolis, NC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Mooresville Church of God. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to either the Mooresville Church of God, 520 Brawley Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115 or Truth Temple Church, 2705 Moose Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
