Mable Bostian Sloop

Mable Bostian Sloop, 87, of Sloop Rd., Mt. Ulla, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville. Born October 23, 1923, in Iredell County she was a daughter of the late Guy Hugh Bostian and Jessie Louise Morrison. Mrs. Sloop was a homemaker and longtime member of Triplett United Methodist Church, Mooresville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Gray Sloop; brother, Howard Lee Bostian; and sister, Lorene Bostian Shinn. Mrs. Sloop is survived by her children, Eleanor Leona Johnston and husband, Luther, of Mt. Ulla, Marvin Gray Sloop, Jr. and wife, Jane, of Sparta, and Bryon Lee Sloop and wife, Teresa, of Mooresville; brothers, Dallas Bostian, of Mt. Ulla, Curtis Hugh Bostian, of Mocksville, and Harold Ward Bostian, of New Johnsonville, TN; sisters, Margaret Louise Martin, of Denver, Willaree Tharpe, of Virgina Beach, VA, and Shelby Marlowe, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Kim Alexander and husband, Bob, Robbie Johnston, Cindy Todd and husband, Jeff, Amber Sloop and Bryan Sloop, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Meagan and Kara Johnston and Blake, McKenzie, Parker and Kendall Todd. A graveside service will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Triplett United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mooresville, with Rev. William W. Roberts and Rev. Judy White officiating.
