Mabel Overcash Farrington
March 25, 1926 - October 10, 2011
Mabel Overcash Farrington, 85, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Serenity House in Mooresville.
She was born on March 25, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, to the late Jimmie Lee and Katie Spencer Overcash. She was a graduate of Davidson High School. Mrs. Farrington retired from Custom Products and also worked for many years at Troutman Shirt Company in Mooresville. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Davidson, where she taught Sunday School, was a choir member, deacon, Bible School Director and was active in the Women’s Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arie J. Farrington, Jr.; sons, Terry “Butch” Farrington, Jimmie Lee Farrington; and brother, Jimmie Overcash, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy F. Lincicome and husband, Kevin of Mooresville; daughters-in-law, Renee Farrington, Sharon “Sissy” Farrington; sisters, Nancy Blackwell of Davidson, Betty Morton and husband, Parker both of Durham, Sue Morrow and husband, George of Charlotte, Grady Kay Spilker of King; grandchildren, Sandy Davis and husband, Bert of Harmony, Terry “Butchie” Farrington, Jr. of Mooresville; and great grandchildren, Polly and Turner Davis of Harmony.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 12 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Reid Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
