Mabel Howard Cooke
August 4, 1922 - December 2, 2011
Mabel Howard Cooke, 89, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville. Born August 4, 1922, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Linnie Belle Barker Howard. Mrs. Cooke was retired from Draymore Mfg. She attended First Assembly of God, Mooresville. Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her son, James “Jimmy” Cooke, Sr.; brother, E. Y. Howard; and sisters, Excell Reed and Macie Brown. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Debra “Debbie” Oliphant Cooke, of Mooresville; grandchildren, James “Jamie” Franklin Cooke, Jr. and wife, Susan, of Mooresville, and Kristen Nicole Cooke; great grandchildren, Halie Alexis Pressley and Aspen Brice Pressley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at First Assembly of God, Mooresville, with Rev. Rob Spradley officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Monday, December 5, 2011, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Laurie Jones and Dee Parker for their care of Mrs. Cooke.
