Josef Michels

April 22, 1924 - December 29, 2011

Josef Michels, 83, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011.
He was born on April 22, 1928, immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1957. It was at this time he joined the civil service where he worked as a chef. In his professional life Josef worked as a produce manager of 20 years for various retail grocery stores located throughout the United States. Relocating to Mooresville in 1995 where he has resided and actively participated as a volunteer with the Mooresville Soup Kitchen. In his past time Josef loved to fish and spent a lot of his time on the water. He was an active member of the All Seasons Marina Sailing club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gisela “Peturia” Schramm Michels.
He is survived by his daughter: Linda M. Dieblasio and husband, Brian of Mooresville; granddaughter, Dawn Dieblasio; grandson, Courtney Dieblasio; step-son, Peter P. Seidenschnur and wife, Judy of Little Rock, AK; step-grandson, Karl Seidenschnur; step-granddaughter, Rachel Seidenschnur
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7 from 5:00-6:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.
