John "Jack" Edward White, Jr.

April 20, 1939 - February 2, 2012

John “Jack” White from Mooresville, NC passed away on February 2, 2012 surrounded by family. Jack was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 20, 1939. He was the son of the late John Edward and Cora White and preceded in death by sister, Connie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann and four children, Carrie White Rathbun (T.R.) of Mooresville, NC; Tracey White Foster (Randall) of Ringgold, GA; Rheanne White Parsons (Andrew) of New York City, NY and John White of Charleston, SC along with six grandchildren Austin, Jenna, Taylor, Alex, Jordan and Madeline. He is also survived by siblings, Edward (Mary Ann ) White and Mary Jane (Paul) Fryatt.
Jack is retired from General Motors where he worked in engineering for 43 years. His strong work ethic and dedication was demonstrated through the respect and admiration from co-workers at his retirement party in 1995.
Jack and Mary Ann moved from Michigan to Mooresville, NC in 2006 and fulfilled a dream of living and boating on the water. He enjoyed his mornings sitting on the porch overlooking the lake. Jack was renowned for his sense of humor and his ability to make those around him smile. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and lifelong member fourth degree Knights of Columbus. Jack was strong in his faith as his life was a testament in his love for his family and friends.
As he was a generous supporter of numerous charitable organizations; the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics or a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 6 at St. Therese Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00-8:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00-5:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. Also a celebration of Jack’s life will be held in Michigan at a later date.
