Jerry Albert Nicholson, Sr.

Jerry Albert Nicholson, Sr., 72, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at his residence. Born July 2, 1939, in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Joseph Arthur and Fannie Kiker Nicholson. Mr. Nicholson was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and retired salesman for Crane Carrier/Springs Service, Charlotte. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church, Mooresville, where he was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Nicholson was a member of the Williams Masonic Lodge of Cornelius, Scottish Rite Valley of Charlotte, Oasis Shriners, Lake Norman Shrine Club where he was Past President, Royal Order of Jesters Court 109, and South Iredell Lions Club where he was Past President. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Capps Nicholson, whom he married June 7, 1957; children, Mindy N. Oliver, Jerry A. Nicholson, Jr. and wife, Jamie, Timothy “Tim” D. Nicholson and wife, Mary Ann, and Brian K. Nicholson and wife, Debbie, all of Mooresville; brother, Danny R. Nicholson and wife, Patsy, of Lexington; sisters, Judy Lowe and husband, Eddie, of Lincolnton, Hazel Hendrix and husband, Jimmy, of Charlotte, JoAnn McCullough, of Charlotte, Christy Kisner and husband, Steve, of Aiken, SC, and Ginger Love and husband, Jim, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Kacee, Bridgette, Brittany, David, Andrew, Matthew, Kaleb and Peyton; and great grandson, Zachariah. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Berea Baptist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Dan L. Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
