Jane Ella Meggs Odom
April 6, 1931 - December 13, 2011
<p>Jane Ella Meggs Odom, 80, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at her home. She was born on April 6, 1931 in Timmonsville, SC, to the late Samuel E. and Janie Strickland Meggs. She was a retired Nurse most recently from the Brian Center in Mooresville. She was a member of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville and a corner-stone volunteer at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen as well as many other organizations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edger Webster Odom. She is survived by her children, Edward Daniel (Eddie) Odom and wife, Barbara of Mooresville, and Jane Elizabeth (Beth) Topping and husband, Jamie of Wilmington; sisters, Rhunette Liles, Vera Campbell and husband, LR, Juanetta Cowards and husband, Fred, and Ann Lois Hudson; brothers, William Meggs, Lynwood Meggs, Samuel Meggs and wife, Kathy; and grandchildren, Hannah Kate Topping, Megan Elaine Odom, and Garrett Andrew Topping. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Sanctuary of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Pitts officiating. The family will receive friends in the Narthex immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, P.O.
