James Melvin McFerrin

James Melvin McFerrin, 73, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Brian Center in Mooresville surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 29, 1938 in Colorado City, TX, to the late Oscar and Anne Sanders McFerrin. He was a US Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a retired manager for Burger King and Hardee’s.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kay Gooden McFerrin; daughters, Jamie McFerrin, Sue Techow both of Mooresville, Kimberly Fackler and husband, Neil of Apple Valley, MN, Pam Smith and husband, Jimmy of Greensboro; grandchildren, Colin Fackler of Apple Valley, MN, Josh Smith, Daniel Smith, Hannah Smith all of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Jaxon Smith, Maddy Smith, Savannah Smith all of Greensboro; sisters, Joyce Beard, Delona Terry, Sharon Ferguson; brothers, Arlie McFerrin and L.C. McFerrin.
A Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 14 at Glenwood Memorial Park.
