H. Joseph Henry
February 17, 1943 - October 16, 2011
H. Joseph Henry “Joe”, 68, of Amity Hill, passed away peacefully at his residence on Oct 16th, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn NY, Feb 17th, 1943 of the late Harry Henry and Jean Richetti Henry.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson Vocational High School in Queens, New York and received an apprenticeship in High Pressure Steam Boiler Systems, Plumbing, and HVAC from Union School Local #1 in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Doris Restivo Henry. He has been a resident of North Carolina since 1977.
He was very proud of his accomplishments having completed construction projects at the World Trade Center, Charlotte Douglas Airport, Marshall Steam Plant, Duke Power Maguire Nuclear Station, Catawba Nuclear Power Station and worked the past 12 years for Iredell Statesville Schools in the maintenance department, HVAC & Plumbing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Henry Borges and nephew, Peter Henry.
He is also survived by daughter, Barbara Ann Martin, and son Joseph Henry and wife Jenny, and two grandsons Matthew and Joseph Martin. One brother, Vinnie Henry and wife Inga, three nephews, Vincent and Christopher Henry, and Albert Borges.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
