Freddie Donald Williams

Freddie Donald Williams, 76, of Mt. Ulla, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on April 9, 1935 in Iredell County, to the late Robert L. and Callie Parker Williams. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Raeford High School and from Mitchell Community College. He was retired from L.B. Plastics and worked many years at Templon Spinning Mills. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Mooresville, where he served as a Deacon and on the Building Committee. Mr. Williams enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes, gardening, and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia Lancaster Williams; children, Vicki Lynn Williams of Salisbury, Lori W. Davis and husband, Delane of Mt. Ulla, Donna W. Brown and husband, Scott of Mooresville; sisters, Nancy W. Little of Olin, Patty W. Summers and husband, Jim of Clyde; sister-in-law, Frances R. Williams of Union Grove; grandsons, Dustin Davis, Dillon Davis; and honorary granddaughters, Alexis Brown and Ally Blake.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4 at Berea Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Freeman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30-8:30 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
