Edward Mancel Harris

December 4, 1932 - August 29, 2011

Edward Mancel Harris, 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on December 4, 1932 in Albemarle, to the late Thomas Etheldrid and Trocie Mae Morris Harris. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Endy High School of Stanley County and of Kings Business College in Charlotte. He was retired from Atlantic Envelope Company in Charlotte after serving 31 years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Ulla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dillon Thomas Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller Harris; children, Stephen Edward Harris and wife, Linda of Chesterfield, SC; Thomas Demont Harris and wife, Quannah of Lahoma, OK; Allison Leigh Clary and husband, Randall of Mt. Ulla; sister, Pauline Workman of Graham; grandchildren, James Matthew Harris, Jenna Marie Harris, Jillian Deanna Clary, Ryan Guy Clary.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
