Dr. Timothy Dale Howell
March 8, 1958 - October 31, 2011
Dr. Timothy Dale Howell, 53, of Mooresville, suddenly went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center due to an unknown heart disease.
He was born on March 8, 1958, in Winston-Salem, to Thurman Francis and Louise Griffith Howell of Winston-Salem. He was a graduate of Edgewood Christian High School. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree at Tennessee Temple University and his Ph.D. from South African Theological Seminary. He was a professor at Montreat College- Charlotte for 16 years. He was a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and author of The Matthean Beatitudes in Their Jewish Origins: A Literary and Speech Act Analysis. He was the former pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Eden and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Michelle Hancock and husband, Kenny, Christen and fiancé, John and their daughter, Gracie, Timothy Blair Howell and Collin Smith, all of Huntersville; his cherished love, Amber Goode and her son, Damian of Mooresville; brother, Keith Howell and wife, Cindy of Winston-Salem; and nephews, Jason Howell of Chicago and Joshua Howell of Greenville.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4 from 4:30-6:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 6:00 PM in the Chapel with Pastor Timothy Wolf officiating.
