Dennis Darrell Sears

February 2, 1952 - October 13, 2011

Dennis Darrell Sears, 59, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2011. Dennis was born in Lexington, VA, on February 2, 1952.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Lillie Mason Mull; a sister, Carol Sears Lewis; an uncle, Denvil Mason; a brother-in-law, Mike Shafer; and a special niece, Stephanie Lewis Vest.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Randolph and Ruby Sears of Mt. Nebo, WV; his loving wife of 21 years, Judy Sears; three daughters, Kelly Sears Schulke of Buena Vista, VA, Laurie Maguire of Mooresville, and Valerie Oliphant of Fort Mill, SC. He is also survived by six wonderful grandchildren, three sisters, Debbie Shifflett of Glasgow, VA; Teresa Hogan and Lesley Slough both of Natural Bridge, VA; two brothers, Scott Hellums of China Grove, Wesley Sears of Point Pleasant, WV.
Dennis worked as a carpenter until retirement. He always enjoyed helping others and for many years he donated blood and participated in plasmapheresis which helped children with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the National Stroke Association.
Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 22 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
