Bertram Bernard MacTerrnan

Bertram Bernard MacTerrnan, 83, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
He was born on November 25, 1928 in Avon, NJ, to the late Gerald John McTernan and Ruth Janet Schlesinger McTernan Aul. He was a 1947 graduate of Asbury Park High School and a US Air Force veteran. He was a retired technical writer from EAI in Long Branch, NJ and a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Mooresville. He was a member of American Legion Post #66 in Mooresville.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Selma Aanensen MacTerrnan; children, Mark MacTerrnan of Statesville, Kris MacTerrnan and wife, Nora of Mooresville, Deborah Hardick and husband, Richard of Mooresville, Pamela Mecalco and husband, Miguel of Forked River, NJ; brothers, David Aul and wife, Linda of Basking Ridge, NJ, Gerald J. McTernan and wife, Aida of MD; sister, Sandra Burton and husband, Glenn of New Providence, NJ; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 6 at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Amy Freeze officiating. A Committal service with full military honors will be held following the service outside the church.
