Barbara Sue Albright Watkins

Barbara “Sue” Albright Watkins, 68, of Cornelius, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Born January 7, 1943, in Greensboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Purvis and Dorothy Wilbanks Albright. Mrs. Watkins was a 1965 graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro. She was a retired school teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Iredell County and Robison County school systems. Mrs. Watkins is survived by her husband, Sherrill Edward Watkins, whom she married August 5, 1967; son, Edward “Ed” M. Watkins and wife, Vonda, of Maiden; brothers, Honorable William Douglas Albright and wife, Mary, of Greensboro, and Lt. Col. Retired USAF Robert P. Albright, of Concord; and grandchildren, Avelyn and Rhylen Watkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Sherrills Ford, with Rev. Linda Royer and Rev. Kenny Crosswhite officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2 PM, prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4136 Mt.
