Ardis Youngs McLellan

March 25, 1949 - January 21, 2012

Ardis LoAyne Youngs McLellan, 62, of Whaling Ln., Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Born March 25, 1949, in Lansing, MI, she was a daughter of the late Alan and Dolores Davidson Youngs. Mrs. McLellan was a member of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville. She was founder of her neighborhood knitting group called “Chix with Stix.” She was a member of Job’s Daughters, where she was “Honored Queen” in Lansing, MI. Mrs. McLellan was well known for her annual Christmas poem family newsletter.
She was preceded in death by twins, Joyce and Royce Youngs and brother, Dale Youngs.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, William “Bill” McLellan; children, Scott McLellan and wife, Beth Graff, of Cary, NC, and Tina Davis and husband, Brad, of Fort Mill, SC; sister, LaCorda Smith and husband, Dick, of Elk Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Sean and Alex McLellan and A. J. and Marla Davis; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Randy Sherrill and Rev. Jan Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the graveside committal service, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
