Anthony "Tony" Wayne Sherrill

July 23, 1946 - October 8, 2011

Anthony “Tony” Wayne Sherrill, 65, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at his residence. Born July 23, 1946, in Mooresville, NC, he was a son of the late Thomas “Tom” Fred Sherrill and Sudie Bailey Sherrill. Mr. Sherrill formerly worked for Burlington Industries-Cascade Plant for over 38 years and last worked in quality inspection at PGI Woven. Mr. Sherrill was a longtime, avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred “Bud” Sherrill. Mr. Sherrill is survived by his wife, Brenda Thompson Sherrill; daughters, Toni Sherrill Lee and husband, Scott, and Tina Sherrill Brown, both of Mooresville; grandchildren, Garrett Lee and wife, Amanda, and Ashley Lee Barnhardt and husband, Alan; great granddaughter, Emma Grace Lee; and cousin, Patsy Honeycutt, of Mooresville. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
