History

At a young age, H. Mike Cook developed deep compassion for family and friends who were experiencing the loss of loves ones.  Recognizing this, he started working part time for the Cavin family during his high school years and accepted a full time position with the funeral home in 1973.  For over forty years, Mike has honored the traditions established by J.P. Cavin in 1925, providing families with high quality funeral and cremation services.

Over the past decade, the Lake Norman area has been one of the fastest growing areas of the country.  Cavin-Cook Funeral Home strives to meet the ever changing needs of our community.  Our on-site crematory offers families service options other than traditional burial and we offer a full line of environmentally friendly funeral options.  Cavin-Cook also understands the need to honor family pets and furnishes a line of services through our Pet Pilgrimage program,  which includes on site cremation and unique ways to memorialize your beloved pet.
